Bears too much for Eagles, 31-26

The Chicago Bears picked up a signature win with a 31-26 victory over the sizzling Philadelphia Eagles.

Quarterback Jay Cutler turned in a brilliant performance, throwing for 247 yards and four touchdowns.

When Cutler is throwing the ball that well and making good decisions, the Bears become a very tough team to beat.

Chicago’s defense didn’t shut down the Eagles, but they slowed them enough, especially in the first three quarters. (more…)

Bears shut out Dolphins, 16-0

The Chicago Bears put together their strongest defensive effort of the season in a 16-0 shutout of the Miami Dolphins.

Quarterback Jay Cutler threw for just 159 yards, but the key was that he only threw one interception.

Cutler let his running game and defense take control while he simply managed the game and avoided costly mistakes.

Running back Matt Forte lead the way for the Chicago offense with 97 yards rushing and a touchdown. (more…)

Bears get past Vikings, 27-13

The host Chicago Bears used a strong defensive effort to get past the Minnesota Vikings, 27-13.

The Bears intercepted quarterback Brett Favre three times and also forced and recovered a fumble.

Quarterback Jay Cutler was erratic for much of the day, finishing with 237 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Chicago did do a nice job of trying to move Cutler out of the pocket to give him more time to throw the ball. (more…)

Bears edge Bills, 22-19

The Chicago Bears held on for a 22-19 win over the Buffalo Bills in their showdown across the border.

Quarterback Jay Cutler held onto the ball for a change, throwing for 188 yards and two touchdowns.

While the passing numbers weren’t the most impressive, he cut down on the turnovers and times he was sacked.

Running back Matt Forte once again found little running room, finishing with just 49 yards on 14 carries. (more…)

Bears fall to Redskins, 17-14

The Chicago Bears were once again undone by turnovers in a 17-14 loss to the Washington Redskins.

Quarterback Jay Cutler threw four interceptions, all of them to cornerback DeAngelo Hall, and one was returned for a touchdown.

Cutler also lost a fumble on the goaline, although replays showed the quarterback clearly getting into the end zone with the ball.

Head coach Lovie Smith opted not to challenge the play, and the Bears lost a touchdown and ultimately the game. (more…)
